Michael John LaChiusa (The Gardens of Anuncia) and George C. Wolfe (Jelly’s Last Jam) bring Joseph Moncure March’s notorious narrative poem to life in their vivid, jazz-infused musical adaptation.
What happens when a night of debauchery leads to a morning of sobering truths? Nominated for seven Tony Awards in its original run, this musical directed by two-time Helen Hayes Award winner Lili-Ann Brown is full of irreverence, exuberant madness, and joyful defiance.
